Workout Free

A workout log app that stays out of the way

A workout log is only useful if you actually keep it. Workout Free is built around that one constraint — logging a set should take less time than resting between them.

Logging is three taps

The home screen opens on your log with three buttons at the top — cardio, lift, weight. The form remembers what you did last time for that exercise, so a repeat set is a matter of confirming rather than typing.

  • Your last session for an exercise is offered as the starting point.
  • Type in whatever units you use — km and kg, or miles and pounds.
  • Everything is stored canonically underneath, so switching units re-reads your history rather than rewriting it.

A log you can actually read back

Entries group by day and filter by kind, so "what did I do last Tuesday" and "how has my bench moved this year" are both one tap away. Every exercise gets its own history page with your best weight and your usual equipment.

  • Day-grouped feed with filters for cardio, lifts and body weight.
  • Per-exercise history with best weight and session count.
  • Progress charts over a window of weeks you choose.

Your log belongs to you

Import a log from a spreadsheet or another tracker with a CSV upload, and export it back out the same way. A workout log that you cannot leave with is not really yours.

Common questions

Can I log a workout for a past date?

Yes. Every entry has a date field, so catching up on a week you forgot to log is straightforward.

Does it work offline?

It installs as a web app and loads fast, but logging needs a connection. Entries are saved server-side so they survive a lost phone.

Can I track exercises that are not in a list?

Yes. Exercise names are free text — log anything you like and it gets its own history page.

How do I import an existing log?

Upload a CSV from the data screen. The export format and the import format are the same, so a file you exported will always load back in.

Write it down and find out

Log your cardio, your lifts and what you weigh, and see whether the last three months went anywhere. Free, with no paid tier and a CSV export of everything.
