Looking for a Strava alternative?
Strava is built around GPS activities and a social feed, and it is very good at that. If what you want instead is a private log that holds your runs and your lifting in the same place, this is a smaller thing that does that.
Workout Free is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Strava.
What is different here
There is no feed, no followers, no kudos and no leaderboard. Nobody else can see what you logged. For some people that removes the entire reason to use a tracker, and for others it removes the entire reason not to.
- Private by default — there is no sharing feature to switch off.
- Cardio and lifting are equal citizens, in one chronological log.
- No GPS, no device pairing, no segment chasing. You type what you did.
When this is the wrong choice
If you want automatic GPS recording from a watch, route maps, segment competition or a community to train with, keep using a GPS tracker — this app records none of that and does not try to. It is a manual log.
- No automatic activity import from watches or phones.
- No maps, routes or segments.
- No social features of any kind.
What you get instead
A log that takes seconds to fill in, weekly distance and volume charts, a body weight trend, and a CSV export that means you are never stuck here either.
Common questions
Can I import my Strava history?
You can import a CSV, so if you can export your activities into a spreadsheet and map the columns to the app's format, it will load. There is no direct integration.
Does it record GPS?
No. You enter distance and duration yourself. That is a deliberate limit, not a missing feature.
Can I use both?
Plenty of people do — a GPS app for the run itself, and a training log for everything, including the lifting a GPS app does not handle well.
Is it free?
Yes, with no paid tier.
Write it down and find out
Log your cardio, your lifts and what you weigh, and see whether the last three months went anywhere. Free, with no paid tier and a CSV export of everything.
